Philosophy and Approach
My approach to treatment is client focused. I engage in multiple therapeutic techniques to help clients grow and heal, which manifests for them in a balanced life. I frequently lean towards an evidence-based practice such as, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which considers our thoughts as a means of influencing our emotions and behaviors. I also incorporate Strength-Based practice and System theory, which profess that all human beings and families have innate strengths to build from, and that all human beings are connected to a multitude of systems, which can influence and have an impact on their lives. I aim to bring attention to and focus on the strengths of all clients, which can enable them to learn about themselves, their thoughts, their behaviors and the multitude of systems they are connected to.
I also incorporate Collaborative Problem Solving, in which you the client and I work together on a treatment plan. Together
we can discuss treatment goals, objectives, and methods according to your needs. I also want you to be aware that with change there can be benefits and risks. We will evaluate progress frequently and modifications will be made as needed and agreed upon according to your treatment goals. I also believe that we can achieve personal health and wellbeing, which in turn empowers you.
I also need to let you know that if for any reason I do not have the experience, training, or knowledge to work with your particular concerns, I will refer you to another professional who is prepared to work with your presenting concerns.
